Print edition newspapers for classroom use are available
to schools in our delivery area at a discounted rate
of 20 cents per copy, and Wednesday papers are available
at no charge to Carl Junction, Carthage, Joplin, and
Webb City schools at no charge. It is only through
the generosity of our business sponsors that we are
able to provide our area classrooms this discounted
rate. In addition to paper copies, our business sponsors
provide schools in our readership area the e-Edition
at no charge. The Joplin Globe sponsorship fund is
maintained annually by businesses that partner with
The Globe to provide newspapers to classrooms for
literacy and learning.
Businesses that donate to the fund sponsor about
half the cost of classroom newspapers and all the
cost of the e-Edition. The Globe sponsors the other
half of the cost, provides delivery, and supports
teachers with free classroom materials.
Part of The Globe Sponsorship Fund is given to Joplin
Schools Bright Futures and to our area schools scholarship
fund, distributed by the Community foundation of the
Ozarks. Through these two programs, our area business
and The Globe team up to further assist our students
with various needs.
Any donation to the NIE Sponsorship Fund is always
welcome and very much appreciated. The Globe thanks
these sponsors throughout the year in a variety of
ways, but the knowledge that a sponsor has helped
provide a valuable educational resource to area students
is a tremendous reward!
Thank
You, Sponsors
The Globe thanks the numerous
area businesses and organizations that have donated
to the NIE Sponsorship Fund. Their generosity and
commitment to education is appreciated!
